Project Brief

Patiala Health Foundation has shifted its plans from original project to build an ultra modern trauma center at Government Medical College and Rajindra Hospital now to establish a mobile trauma unit and ambulance service be executed by Patiala Health Foundation and its Patiala chapter. We have already bought an ultra modern fully loaded ambulance that operates within the 30 kilometres radius in and around city of Patiala. Local private hospitals have the requisite trained staff on their rolls and the services of this trained staff would be used for the ambulance. These hospitals are on the panel of Patiala Health Foundation. These hospitals, in rotation are required to provide the services of the trained staff for the ambulance on call basis. These hospitlas will be compensated by Patiala Health Foundation for their services. After receiving a call from the site of the accident or medical emergency, the ambulance is immediately dispatched with the staff to the place of call/ accident. There is a 24 hour toll free telephone service available to answer all calls. Three drivers and three attendents are enrolled to cover 24 hours duty in rotation.

Patiala health Foundation is sponsoring a satellite center to provide comprehensive medical services by Philadelphia Hospital Ambala at Shahbad Markanda in conjunction with Dr. Kulwant Rai memorial Welfare society. Dr. Harish Sood, along with my family, will provide the necessary funding for this project. This clinic is also a tax-exempt charitable organization.

Patiala Health Foundation now runs a charitable Pharmacy at Rajindra Hospital providing free emergency medications to the poor.

Patiala Health Foundation has also helped the Blood Bank services in providing a refrigerator and is now helping the hospital install a Liquid Oxygen Plant.

Patiala Health Foundation will also run other charitable projects such as free eye clinics other healthcare related service in Punjab, India.
